Still here:)

March 9, 2009 at 8:44 am (healthy living 2009)

I’m still around. I’m still losing weight and I’m still trying to live my life healthy.  Soon though the wealthy posts will show up though I am pleased to say that our kitty, Willow, now has a saving account set up her vet bills through ING Direct. We (hubby & I ), thought this would be cheaper than getting pet insurance we may or may never use.  We started it off with 25$.

I’m now using Bento Boxes or my laptop lunchbox for my weekday lunches and I’m finding that its helping a lot with weight loss. I will be posting some links in case there is someone out there besides me reading this blog and is interested.

My current weight loss stat as of March 8th is

Todays Meals and stats

February 3, 2009 at 5:12 pm (healthy living 2009)

Breakfast: two eggs scrambled with a bit of milk with zucchinin and red pepper…I sauteed the veggies in less than 1 teaspoon of bacon fat for taste and opted to have only one slice of whole grain toast with a scant smear of becel omega-2 margarine to balance out any extra fat.

Lunch: My last toasted sesame kaiser roll with pre-cooked chicken breast ( 1/3 cup sauteed with red pepper) with three very thin slices of cheddar melted on top

3/4 cup non fat yogurt with 1/2 cup diced pineapple

Dinner: Weight Watchers frozen dinner, 1/2 avacado..Possibly a banana and clemintine later

100 calorie treat later

I got my new scale today

wwscaleOf course I had to test it out too:)

Last week I weight myself on the 28th of January and I was 273.80 and tonight I’m exactly at 270.  I did add a widget to my google home page to track my weight too.

I haven’t really been tracking my calorie intake but i have a feeling I’ve gone too far down from what I should be eating so I better start that figured out before I crash and burn

The Healthy 2009 Plan-On a Shoe and a Prayer

February 2, 2009 at 2:58 pm (healthy living 2009)

Since I did a Wealthy Plan outline I thought I’d do a Healthy one too:)

My goal is to lose 99/100 lbs. in the next 11 months. I figure it should be pretty reasonable but if I’m only close to that mark by December 31st I will still be very happy!

I still haven’t decided if I’m going to use Weight Watchers or have a DIY eating/fitness plan but for now its the DIY method

  • I’m trying really hard to incorporate more fruits and veggies and less fat, salt and red meat/pork.
  • I will join the YMCA as soon as we get our tax refund so I can start using their indoor walking track.  I figure I will do that for three month and take a break when its nice enough to walk outside but not too hot to melt my brain:)  when that happens I will re-start the YMCA or I may  just keep the membership anyways to use their other equipment
  • Keep a daily log of what I eat and what fitness activity I do EVERYDAY!
  • Eat Larger Breakfasts, A Larger lunch and smaller dinner with one treat a day
  • I will be a bit more relaxed on the weekends since I’m cooking for two then
  • Learn to love the salad and soup more
  • Only weighing myself twice a month so I dont obsess
  • Knit more to keep my hands busy and my mind on other things than food
  • Remember to drink enough water everyday- I’ve been bad lately..some days I do really good and somedays I’m pretty crap about  drinking enough
  • Completely stop drinking pop- I dont drink that much as it is..mostly nowadays its when I need to take my meds and we’re out of juice. I cannot take pills with just water..bleh!

I have a pedometer already and now I’m just waiting until I can get some workout clothes and I’m set…sorry if this is repetitive its mostly to keep it on my mind.

The Wealthy 2009 Plan~If all goes well

February 2, 2009 at 1:29 pm (Wealty living 2009)

So my husband and I are expected a tax refund this year of at the very least 2000 and at the most 2600. Instead of buying a big screen LCD Television and Playstation 3 we decided to be sensible and do the following instead:

  • Open two Tax Free Savings Accounts through ING Direct. They have the highest interest at the moment plus I already have a regular savings account through them and I can refer my husband and we’ll both get 13$ added to our accounts (I love kick-backs)   We’ll initially deposit 500$ in each account.
  • My husband works full-time and I work part-time at the moment.  He works out of town a lot and get a 1$ per hour extra for when he is gone and we’ll deposit that into his account and I will take 200$ our of my pay each month and add 100$ to each account.    (this will be re-evaluated in June when I lose of my parttime positions during the summer months)
  • He also gets an annual bonus but that will go towards buying a portable Air Conditioner so I dont get so sick during the hotter months of summer.

The Rest of our tax refund will go towards the following:

  • New Contact Lenses for me and glasses for hubby. We’ll get reimbursed up to 400$ for both from our insurance which will turn around and add to the following
  • Vet visit and annual shots for our cute kitty Willow
  • New Clothing for hubby and myself (including new shoes)
  • YMCA Membership
  • Possibly a 3-month membership to Weight Watchers online (still debating this)

We probably could’ve allocated more from our refund to our opening balances but we both desperately need new clothes and footware and glasses/contact that I didnt want to totally deprive us and then we go on spending binges in the future.
